Your Malaysian employer must hold an approved quota through the FWCMS eQuota system, and you must be recruited through an agency on the FWCMS-published list: 25 directly selected Bangladeshi agencies plus 250 associates and 62 operating under the state-owned BOESL. Anyone recruiting outside that list, or asking for fees far above the official schedule, is the exact problem that caused the freeze. BMET clearance is mandatory before departure. The pass does not allow family and does not lead to residency.
Employment Pass (Professional)
workThe professional route, entirely separate from the foreign worker system and unaffected by the recruitment freeze. Category I requires a monthly salary of at least RM10,000 and allows a five-year pass with dependants; Category II covers RM5,000–9,999 for up to two years with dependants; Category III covers RM3,000–4,999 for twelve months with no dependants and limited renewals. You need a degree or equivalent professional qualification relevant to the role, and your employer applies through the Expatriate Services Division. Malaysia raised its Employment Pass salary bands substantially in June 2026, so verify the current figure for your category before relying on an older offer.
