Where Vietnamese citizens apply

Applications are lodged at the VFS Global Japan Visa Application Centres in Hanoi (for Gia Lai, Binh Dinh and provinces northward) or Ho Chi Minh City (southern provinces), either directly or through a MOFA-accredited travel agency, and Japan's eVISA for Vietnamese is limited to package tours arranged by designated agencies.

Fee and processing time

From 1 July 2026 the visa fee rose fivefold to VND 2,590,000 (about USD 99) for single entry and VND 5,170,000 for multiple entry, plus a VFS service fee of VND 200,000, all paid in cash in dong and non-refundable. VFS quotes six working days in Hanoi and five in Ho Chi Minh City after submission, but some files take longer, so allow one to three weeks.

That is about $99 in US dollars at the time of verification; the official fee is set in local currency.
